In 1992, Joe and Kelly Landis and their two young daughters moved into the Watsontown area, with a dream of farming. In the beginning, they had a farrow to finish hog business, and veal operation. After a few years of a declining hog market and the frustration of eating store bought meat, they decided to start raising chickens. Pretty soon, word spread and the business grew. They added turkeys to the farm and started making additional products.
Now, 25 years and 4 more daughters later, Landis Poultry Farm offers a large variety of turkey and chicken products , as well as whole birds. We grind our own all-natural, GMO free feed without antibiotics and hormones. We use our own breed of turkeys that we hatch out on the farm for a meatier bird than most others.
With consumers being more health conscious or just tired of eating tasteless food, we became creative with our chicken and turkey products. We make five different kinds of turkey sausage, turkey burger, bacon, and chipsteak, just to name a few.
Like our turkeys, the chicken also has a lot of breast meat. We sell our chicken whole, cut-up or parts, and you can also purchase ground chicken and chicken patties.
